Welcome Kafka! I love Haruki Murakami, so far I've only read Norwegian Wood and South of the Border, West of the Sun, but I can't wait to read more of him soon. I own The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle on audiobook, and I'm waiting for an occasion to treat myself to a beautiful edition of 1Q84 I've seen. As for Kafka, I've also only read Metamorphosis, but I'm pretty sure he's a n author I'll definitely pick up again in the future. Enjoy the forum!

I've always been keen on that Dickens set, I just didn't want to buy it before my big move to the UK, and the other day I looked on their website again and it seems like they don't have it anymore? Which is a shame, it was such good value and I loved the covers too...

I feel the same way! A few years ago I used to think hardbacks were the be all and end all (mostly because of what BookTube was preaching to me haha) but fortunately I was never rich enough to buy many I must admit, I think hardbacks are usually prettier on the shelf, but just paperbacks are just so much more practical, and they feel nicer in your hand. I do have a few hardbacks which I love as well, and I don't mind reading one from time to time, but in general I definitely prefer paperbacks. The only exception would be my German Harry Potter editions, they're the kind of hardbacks that don't have a dustjacket but the (horrendously ugly but incredibly nostalgic) covers printed onto the actual book, and I couldn't imagine ever reading a German Harry Potter book in paperback format.

I legitimately just squealed as I read that, chesilbeach. I fell in love with Sherlock Holmes through some German audiobooks I had, and I wished for a new set of audiobooks each Easter, so this is perfect timing, really. I can't wait to listen to this wonderful collection lying in bed munching on some chocolate eggs =)

I'm about to start listening to The Alloy of Law on audiobook, and I can't wait, it has been way too long since I read about this world =) Hero of Ages was great, but damn was I crying towards the end. The characters grew on me so much throughout the series, I was devastated when it was all over This morning I finished Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead on audio. Again, it was nice to listen to on my way to and from work, but kind of boring, and I think I'll have to give it a bit of a break before I continue with the rest of the series. Ended up giving it 3/5 stars, although it's probably more of a 2.5 .

I had to take a bit of a reading break because uni got insanely stressful, but I have a bit more time again now so today I sat down and fiinished Bismarck, by Eberhard Kolb. It's a biography about my favourite German ever, so it was fun to read, but also quite slow and complicated at times, seeing as, well, I'm not a historian. Ended up giving it three stars

Happy reading =) Although I have not read Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, I've had in on my shelf for ages, and one of my lecturers last year seems to be obsessed with him, so he was mentioned at least three times per lecture. I feel like I know all his theories now and don't even need to read the book anymore, but I can definitely say his area of research is really interesting and you should give the book a try soon

Hope is not lost then! I have Cloud Atlas on my shelf anyway, so I will definitely try it out eventually, we'll see how I get along with it =)

I read Rivers of London a couple of years ago, but really didn't like it... I hope you enjoy it more!

Thanks to the two of you! =) I finished Frostbite by Richelle Mead and will immediately continue with Shadow Kiss, won't write a proper review though because these books are literally just my enjoyment audiobooks that I listen to to escape uni stress. Not critical evaluation necessary or wanted

Hey Peacefield, what a nice blog I read and adored the Gemma Doyle trilogy when I was about... hmmm, 14 maybe? I want to give it a re-read soon and see if I still enjoy them as much. Maybe even this year, although they're definitely Autumn books for me, so I'll wait. How did you like Armada? I read Ready Player One some years ago and loved it, but heard some bad things about Armada so I never picked it up...
