  1. I am still reading Emma and Clash Of Kings. I haven't read anything for a few weeks so probably will take most of August to complete these. That and the fact I seem to have misplaced my book! Which is a bad habit I have 🙃

    Greeting

    Hello and welcome
  3. I have finished The Chocolate Lovers Diet by Carole Matthews. It was a fun read and a quick one too. I read it very soon after the first book as I loved that one so much and wanted to continue with the story. I found the start a little boring but as it got on it picked up. I wish I could have given it 5 stars like the first but with the beginning and the main character annoying me at times it was a good 4.
  4. I cannot believe it is July already! Just crazy. Hope everyone enjoys what they are reading and has a super month in general.
  5. My family are okay thank you, Hayley they had a message from the app saying someone had tested positive from where they had been. Sorry to hear about the other day. Glad to hear you managed to read some of your book I am really enjoying Clash Of Kings, thank you Athena to be honest I am glad I started it very soon after the first book because I think I would have lost a lot of what was going on with all the POV and characters. I honestly think it will be one of my favourite books of the year and quite possible a series as a whole. If it stays as good as it is now🤞 I read 3 chapters of the book as well as 2 of Emma too. Which I am also liking. Very glad you have enjoyed the book you are reading, Marie H
  6. I will be doing some extra reading this weekend. Have Friday off work as was a family wedding (cancelled) and then a family get together (cancelled) due to some having to self isolate so will take some time spent reading and will most likely prioritise A Clash Of Kings.
  7. Sorry to hear about the reading slumps going on. Really dislike that feeling! Hopefully this will pass soon for you ladies. I have been reading short stories from https://www.tor.com/
  8. thank you the vaccine went as well as can be. I ended up reading the last 3 chapters and finished The Chocolate Lovers' Club which I loved. I also read a couple of chapters of The Clash of Kings and 1 chapter of Emma. So overall good weekend. I did see my gran too which was great. Cannot wait to see her again. Wonderful woman she is!
  9. Aww! I bet that was such a wonderful time meeting her. Hoping you can have lots of cuddles with her from now on. 😊 Those photos are beautiful, muggle not, and hope your wife had a lovely birthday
  10. I found the Character which this book focuses on to be very annoying in the previous books of the series. I do have a copy of the book but it is a rather long one but I loved the one before Is Anybody Out There so I might find I am presently suprised by this one too. I do really, really want to read Mammy Walsh's A-Z though.
  11. Does anybody have any recommendations on which novel to start with? I have recently read a short story by Maeve Binchy about a married couple who travel to Ireland after the husband suffers from depression. I think it was called A Week In Summer. I have a few of her books on my tbr but i have never really had much of a desire to start one of her books but I really enjoyed this story. I am wondering if she might become a new favourite
  12. I have finished The Other Boleyn Girl. I really enjoyed this as much as I have the rest of the series. It was very entertaining but of course we do not know how accurate some of the plot was. I guess that is the benefit of historical fiction. One of the things, however I did not like (I will put this in spoilers even though most will know about it as this is known in history) but as not to spoil the story of the book itself I cannot wait to read the next in the series. I would love to read from Jane Parker's POV. I am currently reading three books at the moment A Clash Of Kings by George R R Martin. Only a few chapters in but very good so far! The others on my currently reading list but I haven't quite started yet are : Emma by Jane Austen and The Chocolate Lovers Club by Carole Matthews.
  13. Sorry you weren't enjoying War and Peace. I haven't read it yet, but it is on my tbr. It is the sheer volume of it that is the number 1 reason that I don't pick it up. I will like to try and join in for the readathon next weekend. Where I can. I am booked in for my first vaccine next Saturday and hopefully seeing my gran on the Sunday.
  14. The Art Of Racing In The Rain by Garth Stein
  15. SPRING 1521 I could hear a roll of muffled drums. But I could see nothing but the lacing of the bodice of the lady in front of me, blocking my view of the scaffold. I had been at this court for more than a year and attended hundreds of festivities; but never before one like this. The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory.
  16. I am like this. A few years back I started Little Dorrit, and would only read it at home because carrying it around was a nightmare. I was reading other books as well and whenever I picked it up (would go days without doing so) I would completely forget what was happening in the story. I got to page 9, if I remember correctly and gave up. Haven't picked it up since but it is on my tbr.
