I'm looking for a short story I read when I was in primary school so around 12-13 years ago. The story follows a young girl who is left at the beach by her parents and in fact dies. We follow her as a sort of ghost as she encounters other dead people and discusses death and how the living cant see them etc. This all happens with girl unaware she had died. It ends with her going home and witnessing her parents finding out about her death which leads to her realization of whats happened. I think the police hand over her towel with some seashells in. I wanted to know the name so i can read it again. Its a story that stuck with me due to its themes and the age at which I read it.
