  1. I hope everything went well at the vet Athena. So apparently my partner had something up his sleeve this weekend, because I am officially engaged. He proposed this afternoon after the cruise. The ring is amazing, a little small so taking it to get resized next weekend. Shelfy
  2. Reaching out a little bit from my normal reads and looking at authors like Clive Cussler, Wilbur Smith and John Grisham. I have heard mixed things about Wilbur Smith, is he any good? Shelfy
  3. Just finished Death Du Jour by Kathy Reichs, now moving on to The Apprentice - Tess Gerritsen. Shelfy
  4. There are so many authors mentioned here that I have never even heard of. Gives me a lot of new authors to try, which is good, because I am always looking for something new to read. Shelfy
  5. If you're interested in crime books, maybe give the Rizzoli And Isles books by Tess Geritsen a go. It's what the tv series is based on and they are fantastic. Shelfy
  6. Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy it Shelfy
  7. I saw the Harry Potter Illustrated book in the shops Monday afternoon, loved the look of it, I am hoping an xmas pressie from someone or maybe some cash so I can buy it myself... Shelfy
  8. Come to the dark side you say...hmm are there cookies? So many recommendations, I will definitely have to read it. Shelfy
  9. 'Interview with a vampire' is on my to read list, (which is just over 200 books long) it sounds fantastic, definitely looking forward to taking a look. Shelfy
  10. I am developing a curiosity about Anne Rice, I haven't read any of her books yet. Although I would love to change that, has anyone read any of her stuff? Is she good? I think it would be worth the experimentation for the classics she has written anyway, just so I can say "hey I have read (insert book title here)" Shelfy
  11. Just finished 'Violets Are Blue' - James Patterson. A great book, the short chapter thing is quite good for reading at work. Although makes it hard put use the excuse "Just let me finish this chapter" before going to sleep. Starting 'Moby Dick' - Herman Melville. First time read for me, should be interesting. I've always been fascinated by the story for some reason, but never picked up the book and had a read. Shelfy
  12. In the middle of reading 'Witches Of East End' - Melissa De la Cruz - Started it yesterday, loving it already. Shelfy
  13. I started reading 'Witches Of East End - Meslissa De la Cruz' yesterday. So far really enjoying it. Shelfy
  14. I tend to lean towards crime novels (James Patterson) and supernatural books (Stephen King) But I have recently expanded my taste to try out some of the classics as well, found I love "Little women". Always looking for new authors, experimenting with different genres. I've read some of Lee Child's books, loved him! Never read any of Ian Rankin's though. Shelfy
  15. Hi Bobbly, thanks for the welcome Awesome, someone with the same tastes. Shelfy

  18. Hello and welcome to the forum Shelfy
  19. I have noticed that about Stephen King, there are two of his books that I just couldn't finish. He does seem to be a little hit and miss with his books. Some are great, right on the mark. Others just...aren't great. There are so many great authors out there though. Shelfy
  20. I have noticed that while some people prefer to stick to one authors books, or a particular series, there are others (like myself) who jump through different authors and are always on the look out for someone else to read. So my question is, Who is one author whose books you keep reading? I tend to favour, Stephen King, James Patterson and Jodi Piccoult. While over the years I have found a lot of others who I enjoy reading as well. Shelfy
  21. Started watching this show from season one, have kept watching over the years and various seasons. Currently keeping up with season eleven on tv. Really enjoying it still. Before I go and reveal any spoilers from the new season, is anyone else caught up? Shelfy
  22. Did a massive shop yesterday, spent way too much money on clothes, shoes and make up for the new job. I can't get over the christmas stuff that is being sold already, shops have been selling it since october...it's incredible...it isn't even December! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!! Shelfy
  23. Experimenting with Foxtel, was flicking through and found an episode of Castle. Shelfy
  24. Downing my first cup of coffee for the day. About halfway through. Shelfy
  25. Just finished reading "Elianne" by Judy Nunn. A different type of book to what I usually read, I loved it. Fantastic. Takes a bit to wrap your head around the different outlook that people had in that time. Now reading " Dirk Pitt Revealed" -Clive Cussler. Shelfy
