  1. Hi Shyora, welcome to the forum! books are quite easy to fall in love with. Shelfy
  2. Hello and welcome to the forum Kerry! Any particular genres of fiction you prefer? Shelfy
  3. Apologies for dragging up an old topic, I have recently read the first one in this series, after watching the tv series and loved both! The rest of the series is on my to read list... I am constantly looking for the series... Shelfy
  4. I have discovered a couple of second hand book shops around. I am lucky enough to have one just up the road from where we live. I do like some of the big name stores though...I do prefer second hand book shops...something about the smell and just walking into a shop with such a wide variety of different things. Shelfy
  5. I am almost done with From a Buick 8 by Stephen King, struggling a little bit with Black Echo by Michael Connelly and I might be deliberately reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J.K.Rowling slowly, I am enjoying it though. First time I have gotten this far with From a Buick 8, there is some incredibly gross scenes in this book... Shelfy
  6. Gravy is a big thing here is Aus, so is Ketchup (or tomato Sauce). I do admittedly combine mayo and Ketchup..works well for McDonald's nuggets as well.... Shelfy
  7. I love Stephen King, he was one of the first authors I started reading that would really count as an adult book, the first book of his I read was The Tommy Knockers, which at the time scared the absolute crapola out of me. I recently however reread it and loved it. He still holds a very dear place when it comes to my favourite authors. Shelfy
  8. So, I'm wondering where people prefer to buy from, Second hand book shops or big brand stores? In my experience second hand book shops tend to have a wider range on offer and are better if I am trying to find something older that the bigger shops don't have. What do you prefer? Shelfy
  9. I am currently attempting something I have never done before and reading three books, I am reading The Black Echo - Michael Connelly, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J.K.Rowling and From A buick 8 - Stephen King. Seem to be doing pretty well so far, not confusing at all. Trying to read a little bit of each every day, so I leave HP and Connelly at home and take SK to work with me and read on my break. I started out with the idea of doing one chapter of each a day...but the chapters in Connelly's are different to the other two, instead of being split into chapters the book is split into parts and they're longer than the chapters in the other two. It still works though. Shelfy
  10. After a really crappy day, these memes really made my night. Thanks guys and gals Shelfy
  11. I loved this book when I read it. Definitely one of my favourites. Over the long weekend I have managed to finish reading both Die Trying and Trip Wire by Lee Child. My next book is The Visitor - Lee Child. Shelfy
  12. I am currently rereading "Die Trying" from Lee Child. Loving it so far, I loved this series the first time I read it, but only got so far with it. Hopefully this time around I can get further. Shelfy
  13. Currently reading "what the cards said" by Isobel Bird. Book four of the circle of three series. Shelfy

  15. Let me start by saying Happy New year everyone!! I hope you all had a great christmas and brought in the new year safely and happily. I am currently reading Picture perfect by Cameron Dokey - Charmed books series. I have read some of this series but never finished it. Really enjoying it! Shelfy
  16. So I recently finished the free ebook sample on my phone of Interview With a Vampire and admittedly I am hooked. I now need to track down the book, although..it might have to wait. I may have made a deal with my fiance...I agreed that because there are books in my book case and ebook samples on my phone that I haven't read yet I have to read those first before I can buy any more books. Which I thought was fair enough...until I wrote a list of all the ebooks and books that I haven't read...there was over 200. My list is 3 pages long, I am making progress with it and have started colour coding the books I like and the ones I don't. I say a few months and I should be done....in theory anyway. Shelfy
  17. Last movie we watched was the new star wars movie. Really enjoyed it. God Leia has gotten old! Shelfy
