  1. “He knew at once it was a human bone, when he took it from the baby who was sitting on the floor chewing it.” Silence of the Grave by Arnaldur Indriðason
  2. Finished number 14 this evening. For me that's more books than usual for three months into the year.
  3. The books I haven't read yet and a few that I love so much I can't bear to part with are displayed on shelves alphabetically by the authors surname. Once they are read they tend to get stuffed in plastic boxes under the bed or in a cupboard ready for the day when I go through them all and donate them to the local charity shops.
  4. Warwickshire, England born and bred.
  5. Welcome I totally agree with you my local library is my sanctuary. I'm sure I would have gone crazy years ago had it not been for books that I could totally immerse myself into after a stressful day.

Thank you all once again. I really must come back tomorrow and join in on some more threads around here.

Thanks Ben. I've been back four times since I joined yesterday I think I might be addicted already.
  8. I've never taken part in a read-a-thon before but I'd love to join in. The dates really don't make much difference to me.

Thank you Charliepud. Thank you Vodkafan. I enjoy reading and a good rummage around a used book store or charity shop far too much to never read that sounds insane to me too. I'm in Stratford, Shakespeare and old buildings we have in spades but alas just about as far from the sea as I could possibly be. Trips to Weston-super-mud are few and far between.
  10. My TBR list has 161 books on it at the moment. It tends to grow by the week I doubt that i'll ever really make a big dent in it.
  11. I need silence to read which is why I tend to read late at night after everyone else has gone off to bed.

Thank you for the welcomes this looks like a lovely community to be a part of.
  13. I adore Jodi Picoult. I actually credit her books with getting me to fall back in love with reading. I still have her two latest books on my TBR pile but i've devoured all the others. She does occasionally confuse me though, it took me days to work out what the ending to Songs of the Humpback Whale was.
