  1. Yep, here too! Which is annoying when you've got a stir crazy three year old to entertain somehow.
  2. Same here! I did finish it though (as me abandoning books partway through is extremely rare - I'm too stubborn ), but it felt like a bit of a chore.
  3. Otherland is properly awesome! In fact all of Tad Williams's books are. I'm a bit behind with his latest trilogy though, can't remember what it's called.
  4. The only other Steinbeck I've read is 'Of Mice & Men', which is fantastic but GoW hasn't grabbed me in the same way. Maybe it's cos I'm a bit sleep deprived! I am nearly halfway though and I will persist, in the hope that I soon get into it more.
  5. Or even 'catching bits and pieces', as it should have read. How do you edit posts round here...? Is it another one of those 'doesn't work on mobile' things?
  6. We're watching Arrow at the moment. Well, Tom is watching it and I am sort of in the room caching bits and pieces of it whilst doing something else, like reading or looking at my phone cos it doesn't grab my attention enough., Then I think I should probably start watching it properly so I 'catch up' via Wikipedia episode descriptions and think, "right, next episode I'll give it my full attention", but I never do.
  7. Actually I had no idea it was a trilogy. I have no idea what it's even about. I just picked it up cos I like Stephen King.
  8. No, I don't blame you for jumping ship if there were so few members left using it. It is sad though It's like the trailer for that film 'The Martian', where he's left on the planet on his own, just logging & documenting what's going on to a computerised video camera. Do you see anything of Paul or Mark (Bill) these days?
  9. Hey Sarah Great to see some familiar faces again. Your last post on the cult board bar was v useful as I wouldn't have remembered the forum address otherwise. The culty board just seems to be a personal blog for Claire now.
  10. I really enjoyed the Mistborn trilogy when I read it, several years ago now. It felt like quite a fresh concept in the fantasy world.Annoyingly, I haven't read any Sanderson since, though. As I have not long moved house and all my books are stored in boxes in the garage , I've been limited to Kindle, where I decided to go for an old classic - The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. I also picked up a book from the shops the other day - Mr Mercedes by Stephen King to read alongside that, as GoW seems a bit heavy going for me at the mo.
  11. Thank you all and hey Steve Yes, definitely long time no see. Motherhood turned out to be rather tiring & time consuming and I got out of the habit of posting. Before I knew it, 3 years or so had passed! Oddly enough, at the time that I'm going through it all again (we have a 7 day old girl named Ellen, or Ellie for short) is the time I thought about reconnecting with you guys again. Hope all is good with you too.
  12. Hello, After a long time in the forum wilderness, I've decided to get back on board with it (no pun intended ) . I used to be on the Cult TV board as 'Michelle' and I know a fair few people from there have jumped ship over to here, so I just thought I'd say hey to them and wave hello to everyone else I am yet to converse with.
