I almost always miss the massage of books that schools make me read. I think it is because I am not really paying attention to them because school books don't tend to catch me but I have to read them
I can only read 1 book at a time. If I am in the middle of a book and have to read one for school I always stop the one I am on to read the one for school. If I read more then 1 at a time I get confused about which story line goes with which book
I have also heard that "dog-earring" the pages ruins them. I always have something to mark my page, whether it be a proper bookmark or a torn off piece of paper. I never dog-ear the pages because I also feel like they never get totally back to flat and make the book not fully close when you are done reading it.
I endured this just last year... My teacher told us that we would all really like a book and no one did. Even the big readers in the class didn't really understand why we were reading it. I would say that I have enjoyed 1 of the books that I have had to read for school but it was a genre that I like and I could understand it. May times they pick books that we don't understand at our age (I am a Sophomore in high school)
I a like that too. It also depends, for me, how into the book I am. If it is a really good book that I read it pretty fast, it not than I struggle to get through it, but I don't like to stop reading a book in the middle because I am not hooked.
I agree with that, if I am really into the book I can somewhat ignore the background noise. However, I prefer to be in silence to read as to not get distracted and lose my train of thought or picture about that page or section
I mainly only have science-fiction book, so I don't have many genres. I try to arrange them with the series (first to last duh) and then for my none series I try to put them by height.
Totally! I love the way he can phrase things and make them sound so intellectual. I think he does a great job in writing in the personality of teenagers and capturing their feelings, even though he is 30-something and doesn't have a teen kid. I think he is a great Young Adult author.
