  1. I've tried both the books and the TV show, and neither were able to keep me entertained. I think the only reason they found popularity so long after being published was because of the Twilight vampire mania, and I'm still bitter about how terrible the Twilight franchise is, so. Yeah. I couldn't do it. I like vampires as a general rule, just not the teen ones.
  2. 7p. to Oscar Wilde 6p. to Fyodor Dostoyevsky 5p. to George Orwell 4 p. to Jane Austen 3 p. to Charles Dickens 2 p. to JRR Tolkien 1 p. to Terry Pratchett
  3. I'm about halfway through Season 1 of Orphan Black on Amazon Prime. It's absolutely spectacular. Probably the best thing available right now (that I've seen, at least).
  4. Whoa, that is awesome. I'm going to have to pick this up!
  5. There's a book called Thursday's Legends, I'm assuming that's it? RIFASNEKENTN
  6. I think Life of Pi has a good shot. The Road probably will as well, even though I personally disliked it.
  7. I love that you have Spice Girls and Savage Garden along with Epica and Dragonforce. That Savage Garden album was the first one I ever purchased, and it's still one of my favorites (but no longer in the top ten, maybe top 30).
  8. Oh boy. Let's see if this is even possible. In no particular order, except Therion is my #1 for sure. It's mostly metal, except KMFDM (which is industrial). Therion - Secret of the Runes Skeletonwitch - Forever Abomination Be'lakor - Of Breath and Bone Arcana - As Bright as a Thousand Suns KMFDM - Symbols The Monolith Deathcult - Triumvirate Windir - 1184 Tristania - Beyond the Veil Dawn - Slaughtersun (Crown of the Triarchy) Thorns - Thorns
  9. Someone mentioned it already, but We by Zamyatin is an oft overlooked dystopian novel. I read it as a teenager, and while it wasn't as good as 1984 or Brave New World, it's pretty much a cross between them both, and I think it's worth a read. I went through a dystopian book phase myself, but I've never heard of Oryx and Crake. I'll have to add it to my list.
  10. I just started the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne, beginning with the book Hounded. SUCH a great series! It took only about two days to get through the first book, and I went to bed thinking, "I think I'll wake up early just so I can get to the rest of the book sooner..." (I'm not one to stay up super late to finish books!) Highly recommend it if you enjoy urban fantasy.
