  1. Thanks everyone! I am eagerly awaiting Patrick Rothfuss' next book! I've yet to start Brent Weeks Lightbringer series, but I've read plenty of good reviews on it. I haven't read any of Joe Abercrombie's books, what are the books about? I've read books by many of the authors you mentioned as well. And dontcha know, digital weddings are all the rave Coming from a family of readers has been enjoyable, we exchange opinions and viewpoints, compare story lines and characters, and regularly buy books for each other. We have a variety of tastes, but any of us will read anything another recommends, and often pass around a book or series. My mom is a mystery and thriller reader, my dad is a sci-fi and fantasy reader, and my sister is a history and fantasy reader.
  2. I was recommended Slaughter house 5 by a friend as well and was expecting a mans experiences on the field in WWII. So I was a bit disappointed on that point, I found the book rather depressing and was not really thrilled with it. At times it inspired some thought, "When a person dies he only appears to die, he is very much alive in the past" is an example, it had a few laughs in it, and plenty of Fate vs Free Will. Mostly I found it depressing though.. So it goes. The Skull by PKD was a short story and I found it pretty interesting, its the first I have read of PKD, although I own several of his books. The ending was blatantly predictable, but was thought provoking. I enjoyed it and intend to read more of PKDs' stories. If you read it let me know what you think about it, I can't really say much without giving anything away due to how short the story is. I have read Bridge to Terabithia twice now, once in middle school and then this year. In middle school I loved the book, but having read it again I found my opinion of it has changed a bit, this time around I didn't find the book to be nearly as emotional or engaging as I did in middle school. But it's a good book, it's a coming of age story, Jess is a simple boy who lives a plain unimaginative life, and Leslie brings imagination, adventure and friendship into Jess's life.

  4. Hello all, I am an avid reader who enjoys reading and discussing books, and I come from a family who reads, exchanges and discusses books, and I look forward to doing the same here. I simply enjoy reading and will read most anything, but I tend to most enjoy History, Fantasy, and the Classics. Some of my favorite authors include Tolkien, Patrick Rothfuss, Asimov, Frank Herbert, Jules Verne, Clive Cussler, R.A.Salvatore, David Gemmel, Terry Brooks, Brent Weeks, Louis L'amour, the list goes on and on really. I am a full time student in my final semester of college going for my Associates in Welding Technologies. I am 21 and work full time as a technician at a foundry, I also enjoy woodworking, metalworking, auto mechanics, writing, swing dancing, and reading amongst many other things. And there you have it, a tidbit about me
