Whaaaaaaat! We have to pay for 'flu vaccine this year?

Just the people who don’t qualify for free flu vaccine will have to pay at Pharmacies. You would normally qualify for being your Dad’s carer, and still get it.

I’ve looked at criteria in Boots chemist website for who get it free, though it’s not very helpful, for me. I have been getting it free for years (as I had a stoke), but it doesn’t actually mention stroke as a criteria for free flu vaccine!

I’ll just wait until I get a text message for my GP, when they are in stock of vaccine & clinics organised. That’s the usual way anyway.

Just before the hottest day of the year last week, my mum was sent a reminder to book her winter flu jab.

Oh heck! Mind you, it could take some time, possibly October, before they have the flu vaccine clinics for 50+ age group. *sign*

My partner and I bought our first house and last week got the keys. That was wonderful in itself.

The sellers had left us a card and a bottle of rose champagne.

    Congratulations on your first house!

Started reading Whispers Under Ground by Ben Aaronovitch. The more I read the Rivers of London series the more I enjoy the books. Delightful reading.

Whispers Underground was a really good book, so I think you will love it. It’s the best of the series for me. :)

  5. Salad, salad, salad here too! But it’s limited with tomatoes & lettuce etc.

Did enjoy cold pasta, deli pulled ham hock and a dressing of 0% strained Greek yogurt & red pesto.

I’m on a diet (2 stone lost since March and 2 more stones to loose) plus I’m borderline type 2 diabetes, so it’s hello to the Mediterranean diet and 1,000 calories per day!

  6. Finished Ben Aaronovitch’s The October Man (Rivers of London #7.5) :) Not long now for Aaronovitch’s new book Among Our Weapons :exc: . Eleven days to go.

Now starting Rhododendron Pie by Margery Sharp, the first of her novels. Seems good so far, as it’s very similar style to Elizabeth Jane Howard’s The Cazalet Chronicles.

  7. 71% read of Ben Aaronovitch’s The October Man (Rivers of London #7.5) and hopefully finish soon. Finished The Sad Ghost Club: Volume 1 by Lize Meddings, which I really enjoyed.

In the doldrums with Hope for the Best (The Chronicles of St Mary's #10) by Jodi Taylor in Audible. Just can’t seem to get into this book atm

It's been just gorgeous, sunny and breezy. I was planning a long walk with the dogs, only Sybil (-the cat) decided to come too. Since she won't walk to heel or on a lead we weren't able to cross the road to get to where we usually go so walking was restricted to a cat-safe circuit in the vines near the house.

    :D

Glorious sunny weather in Shropshire today, though the easterly breeze was chilly in the morning. 18°C in the afternoon was lovely.
