  1. I am surprised he gets no mention here. Robert Crais was a TV script writer (Cagney & Lacey), and then turned his hand to writing, and does he write! His best books are those featuring Elvis Cole as the central character, an ex-Ranger turned PI, and Joe Pike a former Marine who also owns a gun shop. In the last few years he has created a series around Joe Pike as the central character with Cole on the periphery. The books are crime thrillers but above all they are about friendship and loyalty. My fave character is Joe Pike. He is like water, and then the volcano erupts.
  2. I stumbled across this forum and have been busy reading up on all previous posts. I am a newbie thriller writer, with my book, The Warrior out. I got into thriller writing because I read so many of them and one Dec night, the better half challenged me to write my own. Anyway, enough of me. My fave thriller writers are: Robert Crais, Lee Child, Tom Wood, Barry Eisler, David Baldacci... in fact i should start a thread on some of them since there isn't any currently. looking forward to the discussion. Ty
  3. i was a James Patterson fan but now have tuned him out completely. the books move too fast, chapters are over in 2 pages, etc, etc.
