  1. Definitely Indian - in fact my mouth is watering thinking about it after reading this thread. Had a veggie sausage sandwich for tea - not quite the same thing!
  2. Hi all. I love to read horror & sci fi but also authors such as Anne Tyler & Carol Shields- literary fiction I guess (although I always think that sounds pretentious) . Rediscovering Jenny Diski lately too.
  3. Hiya. My name is Michelle but my username is Bravetank. Just joined the site today & started posting in various threads & then realised I hadn't said hello. So hello. I live in Swansea. Enjoy rowing, running & writing - the order depends on how bad my muscles are aching. Training for the London marathon in April but have a bad hip so currently rather stressed about that. But I digress...just meant to be saying hello
  4. I can't wait for the Christmas episode. It's become total cosy comfort food viewing for me - the minute I start watching it I seem to relax. Total escapism.
  5. Crazy Stupid Love - enjoyed it. I like Steve Carell in everything to be honest and the story of a marriage breaking up after hitting a rut & the difficulties of starting over is well told.
  6. I think Pet Semetary is a very creepy book - and creepy film too. The whole atmosphere throughout totally unnerves me. When I was young I read a book called A Candle in her Room - absolutely terrified me. But I loved being scared so much I read and reread it all the time. Every night I woke up screaming with night terrors! Eventually my mother banned me from taking it out from the school library anymore!
  7. The best film adaptations in my view are the ones that stand on their own and make you think of the original in a different way. The classic for me is The Shining. I love the book but I think Kubrick does something amazing with the film - I can no longer read that book without thinking of the film.
