  1. I have just finished reading this. I enjoyed the beginning as it had many of my favourite quotes and was quite Jane Austinish. I also enjoy PD James but for me the combination did not work. I would not go so far as to say that I wished I had not bothered but it will not be a book I will read again (like I do with my real favourites)
  2. Hi there I try and vary what kind of book I read. It changes between crime thrillers, sci fi fantasy, horror and occasionally a "Family Saga" I must confess though I enjoy it best when having a supernatural vampire fest, probably because I have read something else in between My fascination with vampire and werewolves worries me sometime
  3. I have got it on my Kindle but have not started it yet. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favourite books and I hope I'm not disappointed when I get to read this one. I'll give it a try and post my thoughts when I've finished. it.
  4. Hi there fellow Bookies (and I don't mean Facebookies either) I joined ages ago but for some reason just never got round to coming on and then forgot my password etc, etc. Anyway one of my new year's resolutions was to get involved again as reading is a close a thing to a hobby as I have and I love it. I like crime, horror, fantasy and romance. My favourite author is Kelly Armstrong - she's great. I converted to using a kindle about two years ago. I love my Kindle but have to say that I miss the feel and smell of a book. Anyway I just wanted to say hello again before my kindle and I settle down.
  5. Yep it was Famous /Five for me, closely followed by Secret Seven. I guess if you're talking about grown up book it would be Agatha Christie Mysterious Affair at Styles
  6. I like the popular classics and my personal favourite is Pride and Prejudice. To me it has everything. I am currently starting to work my way some best known books. Something different to my usual escapist reads. Am new to the forum and look forward to joining in some of the discussions
