Hi there !

I'm Lucille, a twenty two years old french bookworm o/.

  • Name : Lucille/Taïr
  • I love : Reading, talking (I'm very, very, talkative), travelling and cooking.
  • Favorites :

    Author : Guy Gavriel Kay, Jack Vance, Terry Pratchett, Diana Whyne Jones, Barbara Hambly, Kendare Blake, Hervé Jubert, Cinda Williams Chima, Jasper Fford... And a lots more

    Books : The one wrote by the authors above, the Jane True serie (currently reading), Daughter of the forest and, again, a lots more I can't remember right now.

    Music : Pop, Rock, French Music, Musical (Billy Elliot, Wicked...), Opéras <3, the Walt Disney songs (And yes, I do sing them, that's why it's rain so much in Normandy... Maybe I should explain : In France, when someone sings very badly, we use to say that brings the rain)

    Series : Lie to Me, Kamelott (a French one), The Big Bang Theory, Deadwood...

    Genre : Fantasy, Fairy tale, Paranormal (I love Gosth stories), historical & romance
  • Why this forum : Fantasy, Fairy tale, Paranormal (I love Ghost stories), historical & romance
    Why this forum : Well, I've always been reading a lot, but recently I begin to read in English. So I was looking for an English forum about books, and you were the most welcoming one. Plus, the French Forum (about Manga&Drama) I'm on have the exact same theme (invision power board) as this one so I wont be lost :tongue:
  • Other :
    Like I've said, I'm French, so I will probably do a lots of misspelling and mistake, please forgive me for those, and tell me if they are to obvious (I have to learn).

Well, I guess I've said everything, I hope my English is'nt to bad ><

One last thing : Can I post (here and on my signature) the link to my Goodread profile ?

@Frankie : Ok I'll wait until then =D

@Roland : I've spend eight month as Au Pair in England (Sutton, London) and 7 years of English classes before that in France. But I know I still make a lot of mistakes, but I'm improving o/

Hello Lucille :smile:Your English is fantastic so you've no need to worry there. I'm sure you don't really bring the rain .. I sing terribly but haven't noticed yet that it brings on a deluge (but perhaps this is only the case in France?) I love Walt Disney songs too and regularly sing 'Everybody Want's to be a Cat' .. I sing it to my cat actually but she doesn't look as if she's enjoying it as much as I am :D

Hope you find lots to inspire you here, look forward to seeing you around the forum :smile:

Welcome Lucille

I think you made a great choice when looking for an online group. Lots of variety and different areas on the boards to get involved in .

I think I can give you a run for your money on the talking .

As for the singing, if bad singing causes rain, it should rain here like a monsoon . I am the world's worst singer. The only one who ever held still and listened to me was my baby grandson when I took care of him . He was a "Captive Audience" so to speak.

Now, he tells me STOP SINGING ..

Thanks for your nice welcome <3

@Poppyshake&Julie : Well I usually sing in my shower, maybe that's the reason =D. But if the three of us make a chorus, we might help the drought's country xD.

(And I use to sing lullabies and disney's songs to my little sister, like you did Julie. But the strange thing is that she's still enjoying it now (though she is the only one doing so). She is 5 now, her favorite one is "Part of that world".)

He was a "CaptI've Audience" so to speak.

I laughed a lot x)

@Ben : Thank you <3

(Maybe I should translate my French, but I'm feeling lazy to do so xD)

Good idea Lucille

I'm sure Poppy would go along with us. We could be called THE THREE TORTURES instead of the 3 Tenors . We may become rich and famous if we could devise a way for rain to come to areas of drought.

Have you had her hearing tested ? JOKING .... she must love you very much if she still loves hearing you sing .
