According to the schedule, the next read-a-thon will take place this upcoming weekend, the 7th, 8th and 9th of July (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) :). So, really soon! But the past while not many people have been doing the read-a-thon (myself included).

Great, I came back at the right time! I've quit doing book challenges on Good Reads, but I still think dedicating some time to read without distractions is a good idea.

I know I've been a bit absent from the board and so far haven't officially participated in any of the read-a-thon's but this weekend I was planning on spending it curled up with a book (or two) anyway so this has worked out perfectly for me.  I may, however, change the dates slightly if that's allowed and do either Saturday through Monday or maybe even Sunday through to Tuesday as I'm off work next week so these dates would suit me better.

I might actually do this read-a-thon - I haven't in a while, and I should have my first assignment submitted by the weekend, so I can opt to try catch up on my goodreads goal this weekend!

How are you getting on with your Goodreads goal? I cancelled min,e as I just felt too much pressure to complete it and I stopped enjoying reading.

I just keep adjusting it to suit me. It was 100, now it's down to 80. I'm happy to edit it just so as I'm pushing myself a little bit - moreso to make me pick up a book when I'm procrastinating!

I never seem to read more than the same number of books read every year, so the challenge is never met. I should push myself a bit, but not to the point that I don't enjoy reading anything.

The read-a-thon's this weekend, innit?  I'm semi bed ridden and need to take it easy this week so I might do a bit of reading! :smile2: At least if I find a suitable book. Nothing too heavy but nothing boring, either. :D

Yes, it is this weekend :D! I wish you lots of fun :smile2:!

I'm not sure, I haven't completely been in the reading mood recently so I'm going to see where my mood takes me this weekend. I don't want to force myself, but I will give it a try (I have to finish my library loans after all). I also have some other things to do. So I'm going to see how things go :).

I might join in this time! Three day weekend here, and I've been in a reading mood the last couple days (I read a book, yesterday, a short one, but still!) I have another book I'm trying to get finished and then I'll be starting something new.

I've been too tired to read today, it now seems that my other ear's been infected as well and now they are both misbehaving. Instead of reading, I've been watching TV. I was feeling better yesterday so I was sure I'd be up for reading, but then my throat got worse later that day. Sick of being sick.

I hope you others have a lot of fun reading! :smile2:

I won't be joining per se, but I'll be reading where I can to finish Bedknob and Broomstick and The Horse and His Boy before my holiday.

I hope you enjoy finishing both books :).

It'd be nice if you could join :).

I'm so sorry to hear you've been feeling so sick :flowers2:. I hope you feel better soon.

I didn't spend lots of time reading yesterday, but I did manage to read:

Evelien de Vlieger (ill. Wendy Panders) - Felix: Hoe Maak Ik Tijd? (80 pages)
Evelien de Vlieger (ill. Wendy Panders) - Felix: Hoe Maak Ik Het Aan? (78 pages)

They are short children's books, with illustrations, and didn't take me that long to read. Still, it's definitely better than nothing :).

I wish everyone a great weekend including hopefully some nice reading :)!

I will be reading this afternoon, as it's wet outside, occasion rumble of thunder; ideal weather for reading time. :)

Happy reading everyone! And I hope you are feel better too, Frankie.

My reading progress is slow. I didn't read anything yesterday, but today so far, I've read about 20/30% of 'The Drawing of the Three' by Stephen King. i'd really like to finish this, this weekend.

Are you enjoying it more than the first book? I hope you'll be able to read lots of it this weekend :).

I read:

Geronimo Stilton - Oerknagers 10: Het Feest van de Grote Donder (Occhio Alla Pelliccia, Arriva il Grande Bzot!) (158 pages)
Geronimo Stilton and Thea Stilton - De 13 Zwaarden 3: De Geheime Tunnel (Il Segreto della Tigre) (287 pages)

Admittedly these children's books have a huge font, but I'm still glad I managed to read two books yesterday (even if they didn't take me as long to read as the average book).

I wish you all happy reading today :).

So far, I'm really enjoying 'The Drawing of the Three'. It has a much different atmosphere about it and it is much more exciting. It has changed my mind about this series.

I very badly haven't actually been online to update my progress, but here's what I've done since Thursday:

Thursday: Nothing on Earth - Conor O'Callaghan 161 pages (finished)

Friday:      The Escape - C. L. Taylor 280 pages

Saturday: The Escape C. L. Taylor 153 pages (finished)

The Slap - Christos Tsiolkas 177 pages (finished)

How I Lost You - Jenny Blackhurst 140 pages

So my aim is to finish How I Lost You today. Very happy with my progress, as I'm now one book ahead of schedule and should be two ahead by the end of the day! :)
